"The year after lockdown, I travelled to Sicily for a friend’s wedding. I patrolled the village with my camera, despite the heavy summer showers. As the rain stopped, I noticed the crowd suddenly went quiet to watch a bride and groom couple leaving the church. “For a woman to be a flâneuse, first and foremost, she’s got to be a walker – someone who gets to know the city by wandering its streets, investigating its dark corners, peering behind façades, penetrating into secret courtyards.
